Mukteshwar

Mukteshwar is a tranquil and serene village in Uttarakhand, located about 51 kilometers from Nainital at an altitude of 2,171 meters. It is described as an ideal escape from the fast-paced city life, a place to pause, breathe, and savor every moment.

The village is named after a Shiva temple and offers a peaceful environment. The mornings are particularly special, beginning with the natural sounds of forest birds. Visitors are encouraged to find a quiet spot to take in the breathtaking views of the Nanda Devi peak and the Himalayan mountain range. The text presents Mukteshwar as a “mountain haven” and an invitation to embark on a relaxing expedition.

Kainchi Dham

Kainchi Dham is a modern pilgrimage center situated at an altitude of 1,400 meters on the Nainital-Almora Road. It is located 9 km from Bhowali and 17 km from Nainital. The place is well-known for the ashram of the revered spiritual leader, Shri Neem Karoli Baba.

The name “Kainchi Dham” (which means “scissors”) comes from its location between two hills that intersect, creating a shape resembling scissors. On September 10, 1973, Neem Karoli Baba attained Samadhi in Vrindavan.

The text also highlights the ashram’s fame, noting that it has been visited by several prominent figures. In the 1970s, Steve Jobs (the former CEO of Apple) visited and meditated there. Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Facebook) also visited the site. More recently, famous cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma also paid a visit to the temple.
